I just bought and watched the DVD, and there is at least one scene that isn't there. Basically a voice over of a tramp asking people for money with Bach in the background. Just isn't there...
Why is this? I feel cheated :-(

Yeah, apparently the supposedly uncut Australian DVD actually has about a minute missing from it. Though the murder of the vagrant is the only scene of graphic violence in the entire picture! How ironic. A couple of years ago I received an email from some guy who sincerely believed there were several more bloody "drilling" scenes; but there is in fact only the ONE bloody scene and it only lasts about five seconds and is so stupid as to be comical.
Good movie if you watch it without expecting much. One of Ferrara's best. I give it 4 out of 5. If Scorsese had made a slasher flick in his earlier years, then this would be it. (Not counting the likes of "Boxcar Bertha" & "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore". For some reason I didn't like "Who's That Knocking At My Door". That and "Kundun" are the only Scorsese flicks I dislike.)
