Anyone know the author of the novel? I made reference to it in another thread now I cant find it.

The author's name is Max Franklin. I have the book.

Funny follow up. After I made this post years ago, I obtained a copy of the original book. Just going through some boxes, I found my original copy.

I remember seeing this movie on TV in the 80s as a teenager and enjoying it. I'll have to try to watch it again, but I fear I won't be quite as impressed this time.
