Two of this sci-fi horror films are about houmans getting slaughter or laser blast to death by 7 foot space monsters.
the night alien from the dark uses eyes for the laser blast and need no weapons to kill so I say that a good start before Predator came out.
And
the Predator use a gun on his shoulder for his own laser blast and got a lot of wild weapons and can clook invisible to his victoms so I call that the next step of alien terror.
So I say both are cool.
Both are cool, but "The Dark" delivered a lot more bang for my buck – which is precisely what I paid for this forgotten gem.

shareVery true. Both films are very entertaining, well made and imaginative. I can't understand the low rating here for "The Dark," but I say that about most films I like.

My point being is that just because there is a similarity doesn't mean these films should even be put into the same category. The Dark was suppose to be a zombie film re-edited probably to ride the Alien waves. Predator is really more of an action film with a hint of sci-fi and horror added.
Now, a movie that is a rip-off of Predator though was the Dolph Lundgren outing, I Come In Peace.
I'm just a guy that likes horror flicks.
The movie Without Warning is closer to Predator
than The Dark is. Its plot is almost the same as
Predator, and it also stars Kevin Peter Hall.
