SHIELD

This version of Capt. America was worse than the 90's movie version.
The costume was totally wrong. When I see it, I shouldn't have to ask "who are you?", I should be able to recognize who he is.
The biggest problem I had is with the plexiglass shield/fairing on his motorcycle. The shield did its job but when you have sparks from gunfire bouncing off of it-it's not just an insult to mine, but to every viewers intelligence.
I've only seen him 'throw his mighty shield' once and he missed the badguy completely. The shield did return to him but did he catch it? Of course not. It landed at his feet and he stared at it like a dog would stare at a rock if you tossed it at his feet.
Everything that makes Capt. America what he is was not put into this movie at all, only the name.

I disagree that it was worse than the 1990 film. That film was so bad it only got released on Videotape and DVD here in the US (never on the big screen except in Europe). It IS not as good as the 2010 film, but for it's time (1979) and that it was made for TV it was good.

Sorry, no, it's not worse than the Pyun film. This one had little budget, no names (apart from some tv folks, like Steve Forrest and Len Berman) and primitive special effects. However; it tries. The script isn't bad; it's not spectacular, but it's seviceable. They do the best they can with the resources at hand.

The Pyun film has name actors (in supporting roles), who don't help things. It has a supervillain, who is written and played badly. It has a better effects budget, which isn't used very well. It has a boring story and little action and Matt Salinger makes Reb Brown look like Olivier.

Fortunately, Ah keep mah feathers numbered for just such an emergency!
