Goblin score...

Anyone notice how two of the Goblin tracks were used in Cozzi's "Contamination" a year later? I know Goblin did both scores but did they run out of ideas? I prefer the tracks to go with Cozzi's films as exploding chests are far better than fingernails being pulled off. Either way, this movie compares nowhere near to the ambiance of other Italian directors but it was entertaining nonetheless even if it was just all shock value. I'll have to check more Joe D'Amato stuff out.

I noticed this too, the tracks are "Pillage" and "Rush", which are actually 2 pretty awesome tracks. My guess is that maybe Goblin thought those tracks fit with both movies?

OR

Maybe Goblin just didn't take those 2 soundtracks as seriously as other ones like Suspiria and Deep Red. It doesn't bother me though cause the main themes for both Contamination (Connexion) and Beyond the Darkness (Keen) are my 2 favorite Goblin songs!

It was really cool to see people in a disco dancing to that mixture of jazz/rock and almost tropical percussion that is... uh, forget if it's "Pillage" or "Rush." But I love that piece. I recognized it from "Comtamination" as well.

The score is fantastic no doubt, one of my faves in horror films and one of my fave bands.

The score for this is just fantastic. Emblematic of 70s Italian horror in all the best ways. Definitely among the best Goblin scores.

It’s mentioned here that this score was used in Contamination (1980), but I think it was also used in the Bruno Mattei nunsploitation film The Other Hell (1981). It defiantly uses the same score but with added beats or something. It was really weird having this Goblin synth score going on while nuns are praying, and really set the tone for the weirdness to come.
