Dennis Christopher

Who thought he was hot?I did Lol
I thought he was the hottest one in the whole movie, and his look didn't change a whole lot between 1979 and 1990(in the movie IT).

reply

I thought he looked like Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker in Star Wars, haha.

reply

The only actor I recognized was Jackie Earle Haley. Knew him from the Bad News Bears movies and thought he was becoming pretty cute but when I got one look at Dennis, it was bye bye Jackie. I fell hard for Dennis! Just watching the trailer and clips of the film was enough for me to swoon. Had the biggest crush on him. (Funny you mention him and Mark Hamill looking similar because he was another one I had a crush on back in the day).

reply

looks like Beck!

reply

Yeah, Dennis was definitely cute back in the day, but his delicate looks aren't aging so well I'm afraid.

reply

we can't all age as well as you do LemonJoke ;)

reply

Thank you, darkling. Actually, at 43, I look pretty good.

reply

It's a good thing you're modest.

El Paso, Texas...ever heard of it?

reply

Can we see pictures?? LemonJoke...oh and Dennis Christopher as well

He totally looks like Beck hansen!

reply

Haha raceface nailed it... He does look like beck! LOL

What does that mean? Huh? "China is here." I don't even know what the hell that means.

reply

I thought he was cute, but next to Dennis Quaid and Hart Bochner he looked like a little kid. With those two guys in the movie, I just couldn't focus entirely on Christopher. LOL

reply

Dennis was actually 23 when he made "Breaking Away." Another interesting fact is that while his character was pretending to be an Italian in this film, Dennis's real last name is Carelli, which makes him a genuine Italian.

reply

Hart Bochner was hands down the hottest guy in the movie! So gorgeous! Too bad he played such a jerk.

He was also great in Die Hard, but played a very sleazy character, and looked much sleazier too.

Hart Bochner is quite handsome and Dennis Christopher is adorable, but sorry, it was and always will be Dennis Quaid!

reply

Dennis Christopher wasn't "hot", but cute, I thought. It was really Dennis Quaid (first time I recall seeing him) who REALLY caught my eye! That bod! And so handsome. Hart Bochner was too effeminate for my taste...and he played a believable frat jerk.

Dennis has not aged well, indeed, unlike Quaid. He and Paul Dooley played a dysfunctional father & son on an episode of "Law & Order"! It was sad to see how broken down and bitter both of them looked. See what happens when you don't try to understand your kid's hobbies?

Meanwhile, Dennis Quaid goes on to play baseball ("The Rookie") and trek from Washing to NYC in a raging blizzard to save his son in "The Day After Tomorrow"...he just rules.

That bod! And so handsome
Don't forget that smile! Makes me crazy.

reply

OH yeah! Thanks for the reminder! We should get together a poll of Dennis Quaid's sexiest films (hey, equal rights!).

My all-time fave Quaid sex-bomb film is "The Big Easy", with him alternately arresting Ellen Barkin, then making her dance with to Zydeco or Cajun music and then seducing her! lol Poor girl...she should have stuck with Peter Weller in Buckaroo Banzai if she wanted a consistent superhero! :D

Oh, I know Quaid was supposed to be the "handsome" one but there was something about Dennis Christopher that did it for me. He had this boyish charm: vulnerable, naive, simplistic innocence, passionate, headstrong all in one. He played the part perfectly.
