On Cinemax in 1981 & saw it on cruise ship in summer '82
I remember as a kid, living in our rich stuck up neighborhood, staying up late and first seeing this on Cinemax in the summer of 1981 with my white bread cousin visiting from New Orleans. For days on end we were quoting the movie to each other, "Chuko! Why'd you do it, Chuko!" For some reason, we thought it was real funny. Whichever one of us who was playing Chuko would just answer back "ARRHGGARRAAAGHH ..." in response.
Cut to one year later. I'm on cruise ship sailing out in the middle of the Carribean. There is a movie theatre on one of the bottom decks. Among some films of the time they are showing such noteworthy classics as "On Golden Pond", "Unfaithfully Yours", they are also presenting this little gem. I'll never forget the Jamaican staff members who showed up at the late-night presentation of "Boulevard Nights". Some late joiners to the showing, though I do not speak Jamaican, I could tell they were asking their fellow co-workers what the name of the movie was because I could hear in response "Man, I don't know. 'Chuko'".
