Is there an uncut version on DVD?
I am looking for an original language version with English subtitles and no "obscenity" cuts.
Thank you.

The Criterion release is the uncut, original German-language version. Schloendorff confirms this in his commentary track and elsewhere in the extras.
shareThe only uncut version is the original is the B&W German language. Other more current version including the Criterion version, which I own, have had cuts or modified. I am mystified why Schloendorff claim in his interview on the dvd extras that this is the uncut version. Maybe its a technicality and it may be the uncut colour version he is referring to but he should have explain why the original B&W version have different scenes that were more sexually explicit.
The first time I saw The Tin Drum B&W version was on a German satellite channel 6 years ago and the following I remember were different. The much talked about scenes, in the changing room scene just before Oskar buried his face in the older girl's crotch there was a few seconds semi close-up shot of her very hairy genitalia, that scene was missing in the current colour version. The other scene when Oskar climbed onto the bed of a middle aged woman it graphically shows him fondling her breast and nipple, that scene was changed and merely shoy the boy getting into bed and covered up with the blanket.
Some years ago I asked the BBFC about this and they admitted to me that there is in existence a more uncut verion in B&W but when the colour version was submitted to them they didnt need to cut anything.
I am very surprise that given the popularity of this film little if anything has been mentioned that the definitive version remains the uncut B&W and current version had been altered or deleted but marketed as uncut.
I noticed that on the back of the Criterion Collection box it shows what appears to be Oskar with a topless woman..but there is a black circle over the nipple. There is no such scene in the movie. This leaves me suspicious that this is a cut version of the film. Any ideas?
shareI can't find any other references to the B&W version online. Does anyone know where a copy can be found? Also, does anyone know why was there an a different version produced in black and white?
shareI have never heard about a B&W version.
Can you name a source for this information?
uncut version will be released in July 2010

I just watched Directors Cut and realized that some scenes described http://movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID=3979 wasn't included to the movie.
Uncut blu-ray sold by Arrow Films UK as of Jan 30 2012.
shareHave somebody ordered it?
What is the length of the "original theatrical release" in Arrowmovies DVD/Bluray?
I'm asking for it because of that review http://www.dvdtalk.com/dvdsavant/s3786drum.html
The length of the Criterion Collection DVD is 142 min too and it is cut...
Are the scenes described @ http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078875/faq#.2.1.1 included to that DVD or not?
I trust these guy's reviews of releases:

I've just recieved the Arrow Academy Blu Ray, if anyone's still interested.
The Director's Cut comes in at 163 minutes and features a fantastic sequence where Oskar convinces his babysitter to read him a lurid biography of Rasputin, which he imagines as a theatre production while speaking directly to camera about his literary tastes.
Amazingly, according to a new interview on the disc, this scene and others were redubbed by the entire surviving cast - including David Bennent himself, whose adult voice was altered by digital effects! He can even be seen performing the dub in a brief clip included in the interview. Marvellous stuff!
Sadly, this release doesn't include any of the Criterion extras, such as the Banned in Oklahoma documentary (which I still haven't seen, if any nice person would like to post it on Youtube for me, pretty please? )
