Some ideas for a new version

I'd have the explorers travelling to the closest Black Hole they could find, have it be a fairly small Black Hole, still cool, but not feeding on too much matter. Since they're explorers they travel to another close black hole, they see some crazy relativity stuff like some object stuck forever in the Black Hole, which I guess is in line with the physics of it all. For now their mission is complete, they're supposed to return to home port, they get in their hyper-sleep chamber not knowing they're on a 10 thousand year trip to the Super Massive Black Hole at the center of the galaxy. When they wake up they are in complete darkness as the shields are on full and every crook and nanny is shut tight. They don't know where they are, there's an impossibly strange feel of gravity as they stumble around trying to open at least one of their transparent aluminum viewing portals. Someone diabolical is veering them IN, THROUGH, and BEYOND The Super Massive Black Hole!
