Could it be that Kates father was a villain too?

When Anthony Perkins was killed by Maximilian there were no command from Reinhardt to kill him. And Reinhardt asked Kate to help him against Maximilian. And Maximilian obviously was Kates father. So could it be that his character wasnt the brave mutiny leader, but instead also as bad as Dr. Reinhardt, but simply lost a fight against him and was then transformed like the rest of the crew (but this time within Maximilian armour)?

BOB said that Reinhardt and Maximilian killed Kate's father when they took over the ship.

Thats the framing built up for the crew (including Bob). But perhaps Kates father simply started the mutiny to take over the ship?

It seems the film had a billion script rewrites so I bet at one point in the plot Max was what was left of Kate's father after the failed mutiny. But turned evil a la Darth Vader.

There's really nothing that supports that, but it is an interesting assumption.
