Has there been a 'darker' Disney film?

Honestly cant remember much about this movie since I havnt watched it is since I was a kid. From what I remember, the tone of it was incredibly grim for a kids movie. And I seem to remember people getting killed, or under the threat of beeing offed in horrific ways.

The adaptation of Ray Bradbury's Something Wicked This Way Comes. That was pretty dark - and an underrated gem too.

The Black Cauldron was really dark for an animated film. Some of the cut footage would have made it even darker.

Yes, Something Wicked This Way Comes is the darkest Disney film that actually has several tense scene where children are put in peril, and actually a better movie than The Black Hole. The problem with the dark themes of The Black Hole is that it also features incredibly cutesy robots and shoot'em ups that work against what the film should be focused on.

Also, isn't Watcher in the Woods a rather dark themed film by Disney? I haven't seen it, but I have heard it was a good one from Disney's venture into more mature themes in the early eighties.

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

I did not know "Something Wicked This Way Comes" was a Disney film. That was a pretty dark film, and a good one.

Dragonslayer is another dark Disney film. It was also a good one, with some great effects and music.

Funny enough, I didn't seem to know that Dragonslayer was a Disney film! Interesting.

Funny, you never see that one on Disney's on-demand channel or on DVD/Blu-Ray...
