If ever remade, would you change Maximillian?

I've read some of the posts here and it seems some would love to see the Black Hole remade. You all have your thoughts about who should play the characters or voice the two small robots. But, what about the other robot, Maximillian? IMO, his design was perfect and he looked so menacing. I'm curious if someone would change Maxmillian or keep like he was. I personally wouldn't change much on him. Probably make him a little taller and bulkier, if it adds to his menacing appearance.

I still keep him silent. I like the fact that he never talked and only reacted by his glowing visor eye. Maximillian had an assortment of weapons in his arms of which he would alternate between, from laser shooters like he shot Bob during the final battle, to his choice weapon of propeller blades which he used to kill Durant, to electro shock arms which he was trying to use on Vincent. I would emphasize that more in a remake and probably even give him an even larger assortment of weapons.

Most importantly, I would change his color. I like his devilish reddish color. At most, I'd probably make him just a little darker red but, I would not change his color at all, like they did to Robocop. I'd hate to see a Maximillian who is black, silver or any other color that isn't red when red seemed a perfect color for him.

Well, that's what I think. If a remake is ever done, would you rather see them change Maximillian, or keep him the same or similar?

When he first announced he was remaking it, Joseph Kosinski said that the two things he would keep more or less the same were Maximilian and the Cygnus because he believed they were the most iconic elements of the original film. I wouldn't mind a slight variation on the Cygnus as long as it still looked gothic, but I liked Max the way he was. Perhaps as you said, a little bigger, darker, and more weaponry, and perhaps showing him with more abilities and intelligence, but still essentially the same silent floating horror that he was. I think it would be interesting to expand on his relationship with Reinhardt in some way, and perhaps show signs of sentient thinking beyond his programming, and perhaps have him torture one of the Palomino crew purely to satisfy his curiosity about human life, pain, emotion and even sexuality (Dr Kate would make a good candidate).

Of course, Kosinski's announcement was 5 years ago now and we're still waiting...

Enough with dumb looking star wars-like, silent running-like robots...
