Why didn't old Bob go with them?

I mean the FIRST time they tried to leave, after Bob told them the truth about what really happened. I'm sure he was tired of being picked on all of the time by Max and the Sentries.

B.O.B. didn't tell Holland what was happening until after he and V.I.N.CENT destroyed and stashed the sentries who spotted them in the hospital. Things went downhill after that for Durant and Kate in the command tower. There was only ever one organized escape attempt, thanks to Harry Booth.

After the last battle, Bob had too much damage to continue.

In the book, they explained that B.O.B.'s damage had fused his memory core. They might have been able to repair the physical damage but the part that made him Bob was permanently gone.
