Who here had the storybook tie-in as a kid?

I had it when I was a kid. It was all about the robots (V.I.N.cent & B.O.B.) off on an adventure around the ship, with Maximillian always two steps behind. I read this book a million times by the time I was 7. I finally saw the movie when I was 8, and I was expecting it to be about the robots themselves. Was I ever surprised that it was something a whole lot more or less darker.
