My Review Of 'The Bitch'

As I stated on "The Stud" board, I got a package deal from Amazon.com: $19.95 for BOTH "The Stud" and "The Bitch." While I think "The Stud" is the better film, I think "The Bitch" is the recipient of better production values. The producers put more money into "The Bitch." Better scenery, clothes, music, cinematography, art direction, props, etc. Everything EXCEPT story. I just LOST the story close to the end of the movie. Better direction could've tightened THAT up. Was I disappointed, darling? NO! I got to see Joan Collins nude, and hear her drop a few "F" bombs! Not a GOOD movie, but it was ALL RIGHT!

Yes, "The Bitch" did have higher production values, due to the great financial success of "The Stud" one year earlier. But "The Stud" is by far the better film. it's low budget actually works for it rather then against it, and adds a gritty, seedy realism to a gritty and seedy tale. Of course it won't be as sleek as it's sequel, as it is focusing more on the working class Tony Blake and his world. "The Stud" benefits from a decent, involving storyline, as well as some actual character development. It also was the inspiration for "American Gigolo," starring Richard Gere. Unfortunately "The Bitch" seems to be a lot more well-known..
