john altman who plays george harrison


I havent seen this film but i would like to see it as i am a fan of john altman.Is this film worth buying if you're a fan of him ? what is he like as george harrison ?
I've met john twice !

I thought he was fine. I can't validate the authenticity of his accent. I wouldn't know one from the other. To me, the movie is why it would be worth getting. If you consider this movie came out in the early '80s, much of this material was not well known. I knew more about the Beatles from watching this movie than many die-hard fans. If you like the Beatles, it is worth seeing.

Not at all. George was always my favorite Beatle, and if he'd nailed the part, either in appearance or behavior, I would know it. It kind of upset me that BOTB didn't do a better job with his character.

To me, Rod Culbertson looked a lot more like Paul than any of the other five actors playing Beatles. Stephen MacKenna bore at least a decent passing resemblance to the 1965 John Lennon.

George and Stu had somewhat exotic facial features and it's almost impossible to find an actor to come close to matching either of them.
