Um, I resepectfuly submit to you that unless the commentary is going to be from a key grip or possibly the guy who sold the production crew the paint used in the sets.....no one connected this film is gonna wanna commit their comments; I think they'd be too embarassed. Particularly Michael Caine who didn't learn his lesson after The Swarm and Sally Field, who had already won her Oscar when she committed to do this. I think I read in a Playboy interview years ago that she fired her agent after doing this movie (seriously).
Personally I don't hate this movie, but I do think the extended television version might be a little much.
lol! I agree with you about the slim chance of anyone doing a commentary (unfortunately). I always loved this fun, cheesy movie since I was a kid, despite its glaring flaws, and I am excited about the idea of a DVD release! However, I do think that the t.v. version wouldn't be too much to ask for. Highly unlikely, maybe. Also, Sally Field hadn't yet won the Oscar for "Norma Rae" when she signed on for this. This was released in summer 1979. She won Best Actress in March or April 1980.
