RIP Roger Ebert.

It surprised me that Roger Ebert was a screen-writer collaborating with Russ Meyer. I wish I knew the specific things Ebert wrote for the films, the actual lines used in the narration are amazingly colorful. if Ebert came up with that material, it's a shame he didn't delve more into screenplays.

Meyer has always been pretty good with memorable dialogue; just look at Faster Pussycat Kill! Kill! which was made in the 60's. So I don't think that's what Ebert's contribution was.

In Up!, in my opinion a much better Meyer film, Ebert was credited (although with a pseudonym) as the "story" -person. So maybe that's what he did in this too, made up the story?

excellent points. I would bank on your theory being correct

The two men first teamed up for "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls" along with "Up!" and this movie. Ebert's pseudonym was "R. Hyde"; Meyer's, "B. Callum". They were also supposed to do a documentary about the Sex Pistols called "Who Killed Bambi?".

According to page 759 of Russ' biography A Clean Breast! – Volume 2, Roger wrote the "classical rhymes" inserted into the mouth of Kitten as the Greek Chorus inUp!.
