The Bad Jar *SPOILERS*

Everyone is right, The Bell Jar is an awful movie, Marilyn Hassett was so annoying with her facial expressions and screaming constantly the way she did, it was not a high pitched scream like in a horror movie but more of a scream where she starts and stops over and over again. Esther Greenwood was a poet, yet there is hardly any poetry in the movie. The "lipstick scene" was straight out of "Whatever Happened To Baby Jane" Esther really started to loose it after being attacked, but she never mentioned it to anyone, and never got help and instead ended up in a mental institution, other than that I can see no reason for her breakdown. I have never read the book, which I hear is much better than the movie. I only hope that Sylvia Plath gives the reader more of an explanation for Esther's mental state.
