What exactly 'happened' to Esther when she lost her virginity in the book?
She kept on bleeding & bleeding!

I'm a female and I STILL didn't understand what happened there.

The hymen tearing caused bad hemorrhaging. It's not normal but it does happen. That's what the doctor meant when he told her she was a million to one.
