Favourite song sequence???

Although all the song sequences are very good and very creative, my personal favourite is Rene's song "Love's not for me". The way the song moves from one scene to another is amazing, like Rene inside an hourglass and running towards the gold medal. Beautifully done!!! What's yours?

Rene's song is the best visual sequence of the movie, love the hourglass and the medal turning into Kit. Best song though is "With you I can run forever". Anybody know where I can get it or download it??? Or ANYTHING-- I'd like to play it at my wedding, have had no luck finding it.

i got it from Shareaza share file program no hidden fees.

I got it on vhs but thats it... And its recorded in slow speed..... But its the real authentic copy only played about 7000 times by me...

I actually found "Love's Not For Me" and "With You I Can run Forever" on Kazaa a few years ago. I'd like to see a DVD and the soundtrack released!

"The best waiters in restraunts are the customers..."

The song that played with Kurt on dogri-La was a nice one too

I guess I'm the only one who loved "Born to Lose." My favourite by a mile.

reply

No, you're not. I really loved that song too. But still Away From It All is my favourite in the movie.

reply

Loved Born to Lose, and We've Made It to the Top, but my favorite has gotta be Underwater Fantasy. The song's not the best, but it suits the visuals perfectly.

We've made it to the top was my favorite as a kid, along with Noah's Ark disco and the one with Dean diving. But now that I rewatched it almost 20 years later, I love Born to Lose! I didn't get the Travolta aspect of it as a kid. and then in Noah's Ark, he's doing a lil' Saturday Night Fever even. I love this movie!

Definately "We've Made It To the Top!" The only sequence that i can remember from the movie. It has been SO long since I've seen it. I miss it. I would kill to see it again!

reply

Hmm. This is hard. :) I like all of the songs, but I think my two favorites (I can't decide which of the two I like the most :) ) have to be the "Underwater Fantasy" sequence with Dean Wilson and "With You I Can Run Forever" with Kit and Rene.

Part of the beauty of the film is that ALL the song sequences are great! "Born to Lose," "We've Made It to the Top," and "Underwater Fantasy" are all great. I'd have to say my favorite is "Go For It," for two reasons. 1) If you listen to the lyrics, the song has a good message about not giving up. 2) That one scene at the Noah's Ark Disco is FULL of hilarious little moments, not the least of which is the sight of Bruce Kwakimoto disco dancing. Makes me laugh every time!

But I also have to say that I *LOVE* the Z.O.O. instrumental theme that plays during the opening credits.

By thy side,

Figaro

My favorites were definitely "Go For It" and "We've Made It to the Top" as well!

The one from Dean's high dive. Down the Water maybe?

I haven't seen this movie since I was a kid, and yet "We've Made it to the Top" is still clear as a bell in my head. With the Olympics going on right now, I really want this on DVD.

I just watched it on YouTube. Not the best visuals, but I didn't mind. It was so memorable. ^_^ And I downloaded the soundtrack.

I really love all the music. I like Bolt at the disco. He's so cute. I really like the Kit Mambo running music. I even listen to it when I go jogging. All the Kit & Rene were awesome, but I love the little bit where she growls at him. Love's Not For Me, is so beautiful and I love the animation. I love the part where he runs on the day calendar and the gold medal looks like the sun rising in front of him.

And the Underwater Fantasy/Dean's Dive scene was awesome. I love how it begins and ends with the starry sky.

I recently watched this on you tube after not seeing it for about 20 years or so, and I forgot how awesome the music is! Maybe you don't appreciate it as much as a kid... I love Rene's song, Born to Lose, and With You I Can Run Forever, but they're all good. I wish they had the soundtrack on itunes. Also, I want the dvd!!!! Is there a dvd?

reply

Underwater Fantasy - just try getting that song out of your head. Born to Lose is a really close second, it chokes me up a little.

It's delicious! And just look at that shine!

As a new Olympics unfolds now in London, I dug this out again. While I do like the Born to Lose line, "He read some books and he oiled his brain..." I would have to say the Rene song was my favorite. It was bittersweet in that it showed the choice Rene (and all Olympic athletes face) Basically, that "I'm gonna pursure this goal to the extent of all else and have no life." But then at the end when he gets the medal, there's a bit of "What now?" as well as the fear that maybe he made the wrong choice. Kind of a "is this all there is after all?" moment. :-)

Good stuff.

Now, let's get a dang DVD already.
