Lorraine Warren in C2 goes and relives the shooting of the family of the Amityville house, but it's baffling as how the family members aren't woken up by the shotgun blasts. Conjuring 2 just shows the Lutz family members being shot to death one by one in their beds while never waking up. It may be some kind of vision on Warren's part, but even if it did happen, they would've been woken up by the Winchester!
That always perplexed me -- how weren't the other members of the family awoken by the gun blasts? Maybe the murderer put a sedative in their final meal or drinks?

I think the official stance was the storm covered the gunshots but I find that as believable as ghosts told him to do it. A rifle going off a floor below or above someone would knock them out of bed. If he shot someone in the basement the people in the attic would have bleeding ears.
The Lutz family weren't shot in their beds, I think you mean the DeFeos.
