Something about the Jody scene that does not make sense

Ok your a girl and your being visited by an evil Demonic spirit named Jody, and what do you do to entertain this Evil Demonic SPirit.
YOu sit across from her in a chair singing "Jesus Loves me"?

I never thought of that. You'd think the name Jesus would frighten the demonic spirit half to death or fill them with tremendous anger.

First, the girl doesn't know she's sitting across from an evil demonic spirit. Second, the name of "Jesus" alone, without proper context, would mean nothing to a demonic spirit. Third, the spirit is allowing it to be sung because it gives the girl a false sense of security. It allows the evil demon to get closer to the girl.

I'm not sure what you would want to occur here. "Jody" freaks out and runs away every time the word "Jesus" is uttered? 

Given that Jesus was Jewish, a pig's ghost might look rather favorably upon him. After all, Jesus would never have eaten porn

Haha i forgot what she was singing (i last seen Amityville Horror back in 2000)..yea it's sorta odd that the girl is singing Jesus Loves Me instead of something by some death devil metal band.

Singing that song obviously had no effect on Jodie. If it did, it would stand to reason just uttering the name alone would not only scare it away but also at least weaken the other forces on the house. And, when they take the crucifix around and try to protect the house it should have been enough to scare the rest away, but the official story was they were just asked to stop by the voices....As if it was just annoying them or something.
