James Brolin and Margot Kidder had ZERO chemistry.

Not a very believable married couple....at all!

This was not a very believable horror flick..at all.

You can only change your mind if you have one.

Well in defense of Margot Kidder, James Brolin's acting was pretty much one of the worst things I've ever seen.

I actually thought James Brolin did OK in this role. He's a rather poor actor.

He seems to do well in roles that call for him to be angry a lot, but when it comes to being cheerful...seriously bad.

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

I tought their chemistry was adequate, considering the circumstances. The only problem I had was with Brolin's sulking withdrawal, which for me began a little too early on in the film. He "soured" and got kind of dangerous a bit too soon, and Kidder had to work with that.

reply

Thank you! I thought they had chemistry was fine.

I get the impression that neither of them enjoyed working together. Brolin has said that he was pissed off by Kidders method of acting and Margot treated the whole thing as a joke anyway, can you blame her?

How could anyone have chemistry with Margot Kidder? She's positively disgusting. So ugly, I can barely watch the movie.

reply

Wow...Laurie. I can't believe you typed that. Having lived through the '70's they were a lot like couples that I met. The chemistry was great. She was so beautiful, and women that I've talked to said they though Brolin was nice looking. The chemistry was obviously great, and many people have stated that in various threads and internet sites.

Not that couples today are superior. I see a lot of their baggage as well.

reply

I thought they initially had chemistry but pretty soon he starts getting all *beep* up which pushes them apart and makes them disconnected from each other. I think they showed that well.

reply

His son Josh, has certainly done a lot better than dad..IMO. He does resemble his dad quite a bit though in the looks dept.

reply

I couldn't see it, either. Brolin lugged around like an uprooted tree and she acted more like his daughter. That scene when they sweet talk each other when she was doing ballet was cringe inducing.

reply

He sure looked great in his underwear though. Wish they had had him take the shirt off.

You mean "Hear, hear", but yes, I agree -- even though I think Josh is the pick of the two.

You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.

Have you seen the real Lutzes speak? Can't say either had a dynamic or interesting personality. I thought the actors portrayed them just fine actually.
