Mother

I am just watching this movie all the way through and it's pretty entertaining. There seem to be some scenes involving the mother that are a little strange and somewhat inappropriate and irrelevant, such as 1) she wears pigtails more than once 2) she puts a flower in her hair while she's poising in front of the mirror in white underwear 3) she wears a plaid schoolgirl type of skirt.

These images of virtue usually portrayed of young girls, and seemed very strange to me considering she is a divorced and twice married mother of three children. Was this the director's attempt at putting in some racy images into this film to make it more interesting? It's suspenseful and interesting enough without that.

Did anyone else notice this and think it was strange?

I noticed it, but never gave it much thought. A grown woman doing "girly" things is really not that unusual. In fact, just this morning I noticed a woman at work who has a small collection of dolls and stuffed animals on her desk. I don't recall anyone saying a word about it.

Maybe some ladies out there might like to chime in here, but again I don't see what the issue is. Maybe it was an attempt to establish the character as light hearted to help convey the horror and traumatic scenes as being more intense later.

Who knows.
