Not that bad

As of this writing, this movie has a 3.5 rating. It's not that bad and doesn't deserve such a low rating. It's certainly better than uber-crap of the time like Porky's.

Particularly memorable are the scenes with Chief Dan George, Jay Leno, and Meatloaf. Even Harvey Korman isn't that bad and could very well have been the role model for Krusty the Clown in The Simpsons ten years later.

If nothing else, as mentioned in one of the reviews, I can see watching this movie as a way of understanding how many (if not all) of the rabid, ultra-conservative, right-wing Gee Dubya Bush supporters (people like Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, and Bill O'Reilly being the best examples) viewed the Clinton administration and why they have such a psychotic hatred of him.

Kind of like the psychotic hatred that the lefties have of conservatives?

John Ritter is really underrated. This movie is so much fun.
Loved it then love it now. SOLID 6

Did you tell LUKE..? Is THAT who you could tell??

Limbaugh and O'Reilly....rabid!?

These guys have the biggest audiences in the USA, and they're "rabid"?

That's funnier than Americathon ever was :-) You're silly.

Politics aside, I found this film a lot of fun – corny for the most part, but with enough imagination to keep me glued to the set for 84 minutes. It captures the Carter era well, and the rockin' cameos are typical of the films of the time like "Roadie." Guess you had to be there. Anyway, it's a solid 7/10 from me.

I thought this film was a real hoot and a half. Moreover, it's amazing how this movie has lost precious little of its timeliness and topicality. 8 out of 10 from me.

I've been chasing grace/ But grace ain't easy to find
