I Love this film!

Yeah, I know it is very hokey and hammy, but there's just something about it.

I enjoyed this flick as well. It's cheesy as all hell, but like you said it has a certain endearingly clunky charm about it.

Amen! I also love the instrumental score at the opening. It was soothing, but somehow eerie at the same time! This really needs a good DVD release. Maybe in Italy?

It's amusing and I still dig it out and watch it every once in a great while, it does have sort of a creepy, oddball charm that only comes from low budget horror. In particular I think the decapitation scene was done pretty well, the girl on the beach getting her face ripped off was rather freaky too and unlike most B-movies from that genre the monsters were rather creative and not just people in rubber suits.

I don't understand why it hasn't made it to DVD yet considering the outright trash that does, I've got it on tape and I'm going to rip it to Divx when I have the time.

i've only seen clips of it, but I think it looks really good. I love the opening theme. i'm really excited, because I just ordered this from ebay on video the other day and now i'm reading reviews on it to see what other people think of it.

I got it today and watched it. I thought it was excellent. I loved the suspenseful music. my favourite scene is when the woman's eyeball is dangling out on it's socket. the scene where the girl turns to the camera revealing her face was torn off wasn't particularly impressive. the cave setting is excellent. it really adds to the tension of the film. there's one particular moment in the music score that really makes me feel tense. the most suspenseful part of the film for me was when thelma is walking a dark bit in the bowling place. then comes that particular part of the score that I mentioned. first there is a pounding sound. I was thinking: oh no, please don't let that music come on! then it did. the ending is ok. the red cinematography is very effective, making the viewer seem so alone in the world.
but there are flaws with it. the bowling alley scene at the beginning is about thirty seconds too long for me to be able to watch. the title theme is used randomly a couple of times. the music for the face bursting scene could have been better. the eye dangling scene as mentioned above has blood that looks like paint.
overall, I would rate the film 9/10.

I thought it was great. Yeah, a lot of the acting is bad and stereotypical (the black guy early in the film I remember might as well been called Token). But the film did at least create a feeling of dread when they were stuck in the caverns. And, although you never really see the aliens, the gore was well done. Also, I liked the soundtrack. Helped to give atmosphere.

I'm just a guy that likes horror flicks.

I love the soundtrack, wish there was a CD of it. I love the mood, the city footage at the end...and the blu ray looks fantastic. But there's that pesky middle HOUR of the movie that puts me to sleep. lol.

Agree. Just saw it. Starts out a little slow and it makes no sense whatsoever but I enjoyed the hell out of it. I laughed, yelled at the screen, riffed it while watching... Perfect so bad it's good movie.

This movie got it all! Except a good story, script or plot, but the soundtrack is awesome.
