LOL wonder if its true

Harry Potter stunna Emma Watson is set to take on another beloved franchise - starring in a remake of the Alien films. Emma, 30 , found fame as geeky Hermione in the schoolboy wizard movies and is now tipped to take over Sigourney Weaver as tough alien-killer Ripley.

The remake will see Watson travelling to an off-world colony that has been infested with the face hugging beasts who lay eggs which hatch out and invade human hosts. Emma plays an all-action version of Ripley, who has been cloned specifically to fight the aliens. It will be Emma's first action film and could set her on the way to being one of the best earning actresses of all time.

A Hollywood source said " There is a chance for Emma to catapult herself into the big time. Nothing has been set in stone but there is a lot of momentum behind this and if it all comes together it could be a huge hit. The last few attempts to reboot Alien have not worked out well but this back-to-basics screenplay about one woman versus aliens should definitely do the trick

Criminy, this, Terminator, and Predator are 'franchises' that just need to die. Great original movies wrecked by sequelitis.

AvPGalaxy is the best A/P website there is and do not normally report BS - this story (originating from a uk tabloid) probably is BS but is only being discussed on the AvPG forums as a most likely BS rumour and not as an official news report

however when you take into account the crazy last instalments of Terminator (all woke, Terminator house husband selling drapes/changing nappies) and Predator (they actually filmed a Ripley & Newt shock ending before going with the 'Ironman' armour) the report might end up being true .. (also her being a clone of Ripley would probably make it another sequel which would be more likely than remaking the original film)

I'm just surprised theres a "Alien versus Predator" website , further surprised that apparently there are multiple AvP websites and this is the best one.
I consider the whole AvP idea as "smashing 2 universes together for a cynical cashgrab" and not a fan, that said i havent watched them , maybe im missing something. I just hate the idea of it.

Its true if someone had told me Terminator had settled down to make curtains i wouldnt have believed it :)

Its not just AvP the site is about all aspects of the Alien and Predator franchises (including AvP) however I think it was created at the time of AvP in 2004..
