Screams

My memories as a child of alien is the reactions of the people being killed. They were so damn realistic. When Parker is killed off camera and you hear him screaming it sends chills. It’s like a scream of fear and pain and it just seems very real compared to newer movies.

Lambert’s scream is far worse than Parker. Her screams are gut wrenching, piercing and utterly terrifying! It makes it even worse that you never see anything, you only hear it. Imagine how Ripley felt hearing those screams on the intercom as she was rushing down the ships passageways. Horrifying, I don’t think anything similar could really be replicated today.

I was going to mention her’s also but the reason why Parker’s is so effective, in my opinion, is it’s coming from a strong and physically capable man.

I completely agree with this. I always thought that was the creepiest moment in the film, hearing Lambert's blood curdling screams over the speaker system as the alien kills her off screen. There is music playing while Parker is killed but it goes silent when Lambert is killed which makes it that much more effective.

For the longest time I thought we were hearing the alien make some weird laughing type sound as well but I've since heard it's all just Lambert, which is kind of a shame because that would have lent more mystery/creepiness to it.

I agree about Lamberts scream. And its the fact that the last thing you see is the aliens tail (I think) go up between her legs, and then it cuts. Your mind then does the rest of the work, fills in the blanks.

And her voice then turns into something other than a scream, its a kind of guttural noise, as though she is being g ripped apart, violated in some way.

I think the more I watch the movie, that sound tops even the chestburster scene coe me.

For some reason I don't remember parkers scream. I remember the background music (Brass I think) drowning out hi scream.
