why hasn't this movie been transfered to DVD digital.....there R so many other crappy movies out there that have without any plot or historical or even imaginative instinct. Its time.....where R U digital movie transfer guys!!!!!

Both 'Agatha' and 'Straight Time' are in dire need of being released on DVD. Why hasn't Warner Bros stepped up the plate and released these?
shareactually, i would love to see both of these unknown and under-rated Hoffman films. i agree,they are probably are among 200 titles to be released over the next two years. i think they both look really good.
shareI think this is Dustin Hoffman's very best performance ever. I was hooked from beginning to end and just bought this on a lark because I like Timothy Dalton. However he's not in it much and isn't a sympathetic character as the philandering husband. Dustin and Vanessa are the ones to watch here.
I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it to come out on DVD though, since they seem to be in no rush to put out the more obscure titles older than 1980.
On the good side I can report that the tape that I have has no copyright protection on it so anyone can transfer it to DVD-R for their own library if they have a dual VHS-DVD recorder. It's also a very sharp print so not disappointing at all quality wise, unlike some older VHS movies.

Absolutely! I found this on VHS for $1.99 – and I'm not complaining because I takes what I gets – but it was obvious that I was missing much of the picture. This is a beautifully acted and directed film that needs a quality reissue. 8/10 stars from me.
