Vanessa Redgrave and Dustin Hoffman dancing together...

... most awkward pairing ever?

It looked like Redgrave and her pubescent son were dancing with the height difference!

LOL!

I have to agree.

What a pairing! There was absolutely nil chemistry generated between them and that dance scene summed up their partnership in the film IMO.

It is so unfair to both tall women and short men that they should be mocked from the sidelines for dancing together. It has spoiled many a good romance. I am a 6 ft. tall woman and have always found many short men irresistible. But I have felt constrained by how it "looks".

I thought Vanessa and Dustin looked fine. Let 'em dance and do other things also. (Horizontal is much less a problem as I found out later.)

It would be better for the species if Amazon women mated with shorter men. IMO.

It did look comical as they danced. Vanessa Redgrave is 5'11" and Dustin Hoffmann is just under 5'6" but their height difference looked even more exaggerated in those scenes.

I thought they had great chemistry and the dance was a wonderful send-up of how important some people find the matter of height differences. It captured the carefree humour that the Charleston's supposed to have And it proves Hoffman had no ego about his height and shows why tall actresses have a hard time getting lead roles. It was a breath of fresh air and showed people thinking outside the box in an industry obsessed with how height-ist people can be.

She does tower over him. She is four inches taller than agatha christie was in real life.
