Yes I wish I'd seen it with them myself, but I didn't watch on the DVD. They must be on there, it's become common practice to help viewers if they wish it.

I saw the film on TCM, actually on their website, this month, and they provided CC for it. So, if you want to see the film with them on, wait until they show it again. I'm sure they will.

They are going to show it again on February 1st at 4 PM. It will be with CC, guaranteed.
shareCC is Closed Captioning for the uninitiated, created primarily for those with hearing loss. TCM is very good about getting the older movies captioned, but still some from the 20s and 30s are not done. Being a senior citizen, and since those who are captioning are considerably younger, they make some really amusing bloopers. I'm keeping a list just for fun. I've had a lifelong hearing loss, but have received a cochlear implant in the last ten years and out of habit still keep CC on. Therefore, I can see the mistakes made. (Sorry, that was off topic slightly.)
I've noticed the mistakes, too, when I lipread the thespians. Some of the things they say don't match what I read through CC or subtitles. It's annoying. I wish they would be word for word and don't think it's that hard to do.
Amazon has done a phenomenal job with the subtitles because many of the old movies through streaming finally have CC for the first time ever that we'll never see in VHS or DVD. It's been a nice treat.
TCM is doing well with that, but there are still some movies that aren't CC which is disappointing. They said it's something to do with the purchasing rights and they don't do the translation, something like that. Yet I'm sure their demographics include mostly of people who are 50+ years old.
