It's surely hugely underrated man, you're right. Pacino is great in this one. Truly one of his best perofrmances. It deserves to be in the top 250. Why people gave it 7 i can't understand. Apart from Pacino, the story is great, it's full of minor-supporting stories in it, and it's about the major flaws of law system of US. And it's not only problem of the US (as being a non-US citizen), in whole world it must be an issue that people should think about. It's the truth that is murdered everyday.

Dear Dolunay, o.k. you're a non-US citizen.Your nickname sounds so familiar to me that makes me wonder where you're from,if letting me know is o.k. for you of course?
See you around.

ICAM. Pacino gives a mesmerizing performance in this film which deservedly earned him an Oscar nomination...the scene at the climax of the film where her turns on his own client (John Forsythe) is a classic.

Agreed. Each time I watch the final trial scene, I get goosebumps. It's a shame Al didn't win an Oscar but at least he got nominated.
That's one amazing movie any movie fan MUST watch, especially Al Pacino fans. 9/10.

I thought that you might have, some advise to give, on how to be, insensitive.

Without a doubt. I do believe this is one of Al Pacino's best movies, and the final courtroom scene was some of his best work to date. Sadly, nobody really seems to know about it, it would seem only a handful of people have any knowledge of it, when this is probably one of the best court movies made.

10 out of 10.

The court room acting at the end is some of the best acting I ever witnessed.

I think this is Pacino's best performance comparred to The Godfather 1&2 & "Scarface".

Just so no one gets mad later, my comments that follow will contain spoilers.

I've seen this movie a few times over the years. I just now watched it again and decided to come here to see what other viewers have thought of it. I've also recently re-watched "Scent of a Woman". That said, in my opinion (which is the reason this message board is here; I also like typing "opinion"--it's one of those words that are typed all with one hand) "Scent" is over-rated and "Justice" is under-rated. Here's why:

Pacino has had some great roles and given some terrific performances: Dog Day Afternoon, Godfathers I & II (III should never have been made; like Jaws 2 and Jaws 3D, it was unnecessary and cheapens the original), Justice for all, Scent of a Woman, some others, but that's enough for my discussion. "Scent", his Ocscar-winner, was not his best performance. It's very good, but rather one-dimensional, as are his performances in the Godfathers, really.

This movie, though, is one of his best, if not his best. Everyone always refers to the climactic closing courtroom scene, but the movie is full of great moments. My favorite is the scene in the parking garage with that lawyer buddy of his, the guy from Die Hard With A Vengeance (Bryggmann?) after Agee committed suicide. There's so much realism. In another scene, where he first brings Christine Lahti back to his apartment, notice how comfortable Pacino is in the kitchen. He goes in the drawers and cabinets and lights the stove and candles as though he's really lived there, knows where everything is, and has done it all a million times. The mark of a good actor is when you don't notice him acting. These two scenes are all that.

Justice deserves better than a 7 rating. It's certainly not without its faults. I would like to see it re-edited without the hokey 70's-movie-music so common at the time. And I think Jewison could have done a better job with the helicopter scene--in the shots of Pacino and Jack Warden inside the copter the blades behind them are obviously and annoyingly moving too slow.

Some comments have complained that the story is slow-moving or even boring. I don't know what kind of movies these people were raised on. And the performances are all first-rate.

For all you complainers, go back and watch it again.

I agree wholeheartedly (is that a word?) with your sentiments regarding pacino's performance in this film. Also agree with the thought regarding his oscar for "scent". As per the usual oscar "rules" the award seemed to be kind of a make up call for previous slights such as his loss for AJFA. Obviously Denzel should have won for "Malcolm X". Oscar made up for thaat later as well with the Joke of "training day".

Cheers

Loved the film .. just saw it for the first time! it was quite funny in some places whcih gave it an over all good feel .. and the final scene .... mother of god that was good!!

Just watched this movie recently, this movie certainly has staying power after all these years. It was nice to watch a Pacino movie when he did not fully have his modern-day raspiness in his voice, although his courtroom outbursts in this movie may have attributed to it :-)

definetly underrated.!!

10/10 for me as well.
