Did Kevin O'Connor learn in TV 101 that he should TOUCH EVERYTHING?

Just watched him pull a beautiful copper pan off the wall and put his hands all over it.

Don't worry Kev, some ELSE can polish that up later.

Then we move on to the antique painted furniture, so he runs his oily fingers over the ancient pigment, taking care to rub several lengths of fragile gold coating.

Somehow or other he manages not to fondle a crystal chandelier.

Yes, it drives me nuts.

Bob Vila does the exact same thing every time, on every show he's on. I watched him run his bare hands over priceless antiques, vintage mantles and woodwork, vintage wallpaper, and all manner of materials. He picked up old pictures and old books and leafed through pages. He handled delicate old fabrics. I saw more than one person who was showing him around get a look of panic on their face. I cringed until I couldn't watch any longer.
