The 'vision' sound effect

What made up that noise they played every time Louis had a vision?

My guess is at least one electric guitar (obvious) and a rear ten-speed bicycle tire, spinning, it's chain and gears clicking, with maybe either bicycle beads or someone plucking something against the spokes.
