no dvd?

I remember watching this show on pbs in the early 80s. It'd be interesting to see an epsiode again. I remember liking it a lot, but other things I liked from that period haven't necessarily held up to the test of time.

Your best bet is YouTube. The cast and crews on most CBC show in the 70s and 80s had contracts where they had a say-so and got paid for the episodes they made. The contracts were good for reruns on tv and internationally, but never touched on video tape sales or any other future format (DVD or online sales). To bring out anything on DVD from the 70s or 80s from the CBC, the CBC would have to renegotiate rights and contracts with all those casts and crews. Just trying to track them all down would probably bankrupt the CBC.

YouTube seems to have them all.

If anyone ever figures out a legal loophole and manages to put them on DVD, I hope they remaster them first. The films are getting pretty washed out.

This guy has the complete episodes available on DVD for a reasonable price, considering that it's 43 episodes on 11 DVDs:

It's not great quality (I assume it's converted from VHS tapes recorded from broadcasts) but it's definitely watchable. And the show really is as good as I remembered it. If you just want to watch an episode or two, there are some posted on Youtube.
