What happen to Jim Warner and the School Teacher?

What happen to Jim Warner and the School Teacher? I know that they had a son and Jim lived like a black man, but then what happened afterwards?

Good Question. The last you see of Carrie is at the wedding.

I read that Fay Hauser's daughter (in real life) is a track star.

Also wondered what happened to jim warner and his wife but it did brifly show carrie at berthas wedding but mentioned jim,and by the next episode they seem to have disappeared unless they had passed away.

Was the wedding Andy Warner's last appearance? He didn't seem to age during the 40 year span that he was featured.

In watching a later episode where the 3 negro's boys are hanged, you go right to a scene in church where the preacher says a few words. Now if you look closely, you will see Carrie Warner sitting in the pew, which looks like she is sitting just by herself. You can't see who is sitting beside her, could be her husband Jim or someone else.

I guess Richard Thomas was not available during that day of filming.

reply

If you recall jim was having some trouble getting used to living like a black person and maybe he just got sick of living like that and took off.

reply

I doubt it. I recall he is mentioned in that scene with Carrie, so I'm sure he was still around.

Hey they were not in last episode of roots set in 1960s

The actor was quite popular at the time and may have been busy. jim Warner most likely never existed, dig into Roots a bit and you find most of it which comes from family stories passed down is not very accurate. He was probably a faint recalling from some old relative of a white guy who may have married a black girl once (not impossible, Muhammed Alis great grandfather was Irish and married a free slave after the civil war, for example)or just made up tell the story of similar cases that happened at the time.

The last scene I recall him in was with his son who is now a young man trying to save his estranged fathers life when he collapses.I guess that was all of the story worth telling for him.

I know I'm late but yes, they did actually exist, except their last name wasn't Warner. Their last name was Turner and here is a brief story of them with a photo...

When Bertha and Simon got married, I recall Carrie and Jim being mentioned. I don't quite remember, but I think it was Carrie saying how Jim couldn't pull himself from the library in Will and Cynthia's new house, or Bertha mentioning it to someone. Either way, they were still being discussed at least when the wedding happened, so I believe Jim and Carrie Warner stayed together until they were parted by death.
