Not enough horses

I just saw this version and one objection I had was--not enough horses. I know that sounds silly, but I love horses so much that they are one of my favorite parts of period pieces.

I am now rewatching Jennifer Ehle's version, and there is a mare and foal in the very first scene--and then lots of lovely horses throughout.

Maybe that's why that version is my favorite.

Yes, I am joking a little.

You do have a point. The characters seem to do a lot of walking! Low budget?

It was a very low-budget production. But then, so were a lot of the adaptations of that period.

Have you read the book? The characters do a lot of walking in that too.
