The 2004 dubbed episodes

Would there be a reason why a handful of the second season episodes were not dubbed originally. I've finally watch a dozen of those unseen episodes I didn't know existed and some leave me with a bad taste.

If there was reasons episodes weren't originally dubbed and could probably see why, here's some examples:

"You Win Some, You Lose Some" - Not dubbed due to nature of gambling for a kid's show?

"The Land With Two Suns" - Too Boring?

"Am I Dreaming?" - Too Gorey? C'mon a knife through Tripitaka's neck would of scared the heck out of me had I seen as a kid.

"The Tormented Emperor" - Too unbelievable? Why Pigsy and Horse had to be dressed up to looked like women, when Monkey or Pigsy could of probably used magic and turned them into real women instead?

I don't think any of the reasons are correct. It wasn't selected episodes, it was the last 13 that were not dubbed. I would imagine it was to do with time.

On the short doc about the newly dubbed episodes on the 2004 DVDs they say the 13 episodes were left out because they were thought to be too dark and scary for children.

This strikes me as odd considering they dubbed the whole of the first season.

I think they produced the dubbing in 13 episode chunks, as a 13-episode season was more common in the UK. So they did the first season in two parts, then chose the next 13 they wanted to do from season 2.
If the show was still greatly popular maybe they would have done the remaining 13 in another batch back then, forgiving how darker the episodes were.

Not according to this... http://www.monkeyheaven.com/undubbedepisodes.html

In actual fact, 26 episodes were made in season 2, but 13 of these episodes (NOT THE LAST 13 episodes) were never dubbed into English; they exist only in their original Japanese form.
