Favourite Monkey Line

Monkey - "come out you demon poofter!!!"
Pigsy to the priest after being kicked in the nuts, pointing to his crotch, doubled over - "Master, he kicked me here"

As I said to Delores Montenegro in "Calling All Quakers", 'have it your way, baby'. Troy McClure

reply

Pigsy to the Slug Monster: "You snail without a shell!"

When they cautiously approach Tripitaka thinking he might be the Shape Changer, Pigsy says "Monster...I mean Master."

reply

Sandy on hearing that Tripitaka intends to wed the the dog woman after the later forces her into the situation on religious grounds
"oh she said so! ignore her then she's a bitch"

"boredom is death"

reply

Has to be some of the pseudo buddist musings:

'you can ran from tigers, but where do you run from yourself'?

'What ever you do, you do to yourself'

reply

How about:

"Hey Buddha!" "You better put the kettle on... here we come!!"

"Wanting to be someone else is a waste of the person you are."-Kurt Cobain

reply

I think two of the most memorable yet not particularly lines per se are:

"czi di di di di" (When Tripitaka gives Monkey the headache)

and

"fhew wu wu wu fwish" (When monkey is calling/creating the cloud ride)

How many people have had the conversation:

Yours Truly: Hey have you seen a show called Monkey
Other Party: Yeah... it's cool... "fhew wu wu wu fwish" (with the hand actions)

reply

Hahahaha..oh yeah..i have a Monkey t-shirt and everyone my age makes the hand actions when they see it.

Actually 'Whatever you do, you do to yourself' is part of a quote from The Buddha ..

I am interested as to why you claim it to be PSEUDO .. as the story is very old and full of Buddhist teachings and principles ...

reply

I always thought the definitive line was

"Monkey - no violence!"

Although I always thought that

"The eunuch should not gloat over his chastity"

was profound

reply

Wasn't the entire line: "Just as the dragon should not take pride in having horns, so the eunuch should not take pride in his chastity..." or something?

I always liked The Water Margin's "So may one just man become an army..."

Phoo Are My World!

reply

I believe it was "No killing!"...

reply

after 'returning' to buddha's hand...

"i could have gone anywhere, but i went that way" *points*

genius, pure genius!

reply

Not a line, but a moment. Wizzing on the Buddha’s hand thinking it was the Pillars at the End of the World.

Mostly I just love the innuendo. Particularly the Emperor of Heaven visiting his mistress on a “business trip” and the Dragon Princess urging Monkey to make his staff bigger by rubbing it:

“Ooh, go on, make it bigger!”

Haha! What about

The hungry camel is still bigger than a horse!

reply

cant remember any favourite lines as such, but i do love it when monkey thinks hes been bestowed a celestial title by the jade god and it turns out to be head pooper scooper in the kings stables

reply

Best one has to be when he looks at Buddha (played by a woman) and says: "I always thought you were a fella." Classic!

reply

"EVIL DEMONS!!!" - Monkey

" It's a cheerful philosophy and i've heard it from people before... they're all dead now though" - Sandy

"And you know eating babies isn't good manners, don't you?" - Monkey

" Ahh .. Look .. a woman " - Pigsy

"Alright, let battle commence - wine and...bananas, bring on the dancing girls." - Monkey

" Grow Stick... grow again stick... grow nice and large again for King Monkey."
- Monkey

classic show

My two favourites are

Sandy, with references to Pigsy "Ignorance can always be improved upon, but you can't do anything to help stupidity!"

Someone (Tipitaka?) asks "Who are you?"
Monkey replies "We three kings of Orient are!"

"great minds think differently"

reply

Gah, I knew "come out you demon poofter!" would be taken. Gold.

One of my favourites has to be from the narrator in the episode with the drought monster/demon/spirit...
"No one was behaving from very Buddhist motives. Then, thought Pigsy, he was hardly a Buddha, nor was he a monkey. Presently, he was a pig spirit changed into a little girl pretending to be a little boy to be offered to a water monster. It was all very simple to a pig spirit."

reply

Another episode Monkey snorted, "Pigsy, you poofter."

Absolute side splitter.

And here's my offer to your counter offer. Go f--k yourself.

reply

How about -

"It is bad to travel alone, but worse to travel with a fool".

It's said while Tripitaka is travelling with Monkey before they meet up with Pigsy and Sandy.

I have inside me blood of kings - YEAH!
