I remember being very excited ...

I remember being very excited to see NBC bring this back as a weekly television series after the success of the 1978 television movie (some say it was a mini-series, but I recall it being a NBC made-for-television movie). Of course, I was disappointed Susan Dey had not returned as Jo, and, I understood why Meredith Baxter couldn't return due to her commitment to ABC's "Family." Only Eve Plumb was returning and she was cast in an entirely different role. Still I looked forward to seeing it, even recording the opening and closing credits on my VCR, which very few people had at the time. I always liked the theme song.

Well, that was 30 years ago, and I don't remember a darn thing about it. The only thing I can tell you is that I gave up on watching it every week, which explains why the show got canceled. Now, all these years later I am interested in it again because I bought the 1978 movie on DVD, something I thought we would never see. Also, I am puzzled as to why Susan Dey didn't take the gig on the series. It would be many years later before she really caught any kind of fame again and even then she was never beloved, probably due to her constant bashing of being associated with The Partridge Family. Funny, even Eve Plumb who bashes her Brady Bunch fame is teamed up with Dey. Didn't realize that until now.
