Differences to movie?

Could someone briefly tell me what differences their are between this and the movie.

I have seen the movie (which kinda sucked) but i liked the premise.

Is this different, if so how?

The TV movie spells James Jones' story out in much greater detail (because, after all, it's much longer).

But if you didn't like the 1953 version, there's little reason to think you'd like this.

I would like to.see a TV serial.including the whole of a book - word for word.and deed for deed.
