It doesn't alwyas list his surname but it's the surname of his trainer. I think it's got a nice ring to it!

In the late 90's, Gary Russell (who played Dick) wrote memoirs of his time filming the series. That webpage has long gone now, but I downloaded it at the time and it makes an interesting read as it details where the episodes were filmed, how they auditioned for the parts and the fun they had with the guest stars along the way. Funnily enough, the people playing the comic baddies were usually the nicest people from what he said.

Anyway, he mentioned that after Series 2 was filmed in 1978, they got together one last time for a photo call to promote the second season about to premiere. Apparently Timmy was very ill at the time and was dying with cancer. His trainer Ben Woodgate kept it secret so as not to upset the young actors and distract them from their press activities. According to Gary, Toddy (Timmy) passed away about 3 months later. I loved Timmy. He was a legend.

Another bit of Timmy trivia - Gary also mentioned in his memoirs that Michelle (George) had a bag of sausages up her shirt when they filmed the opening credits sequence in the front yard. They did that so he would jump on her when they were all patting Timmy.
