Amazon is considering dropping The Dukes of Hazzard from IMDb TV over the Confederate flag

The racial reckoning following George Floyd's killing has already led to NASCAR banning the Confederate flag. The Dukes of Hazzard could be next, reports Josef Adalian. But it woudn't be the first time. In 2015, after Dylann Roof killed nine black parishioners at a South Carolina church, Warner Bros. TV stopped licensing images of the General Lee race car while TV Land dropped the show's reruns. In the past few years, however, The Dukes of Hazzard ended up on Amazon Prime before migrating to Amazon's free streaming service IMDb TV. "It’s worth noting that Dukes has never faced any protests over the scripted content of the show, save perhaps from TV critics at the time who lamented how silly and stupid the show could be," explains Adalian. "It didn’t use blackface; it didn’t delve into politics. When TV Land pulled the show in 2015, the decision seemed entirely related to the use of the flag, which was in the news because of the Dylann Roof shooting." He adds that even if Dukes is pulled, it will still be available on iTunes and Amazon's digital video store.

If they're gonna censor out the Confederate flag on the General Lee, can they at least CGI an image of John Schneider's erect cock on it instead?

If they do drop the show, they are signalling that they are total morons.
