Were people satisfied with the ending??

I was just curious if viewers were satisfied with how the series ended? Thanks!

reply

Yes. I can only really see two possible endings for the show: Ash gets blown up or Ash continues working and we don't find out what happens in the long run.

And I know which I prefer :).

reply

The story was so interesting I'd like to know the further adventures of Ash.

reply

Correct ... there was only two ways to end and I prefer the chosen as well. Pretty fascinating series after all these years!

I missed the entire series when it was first shown in 1979 - in fact, it might not have been shown at all in my region, if it clashed with some televised football matches.
Having just watched all of it in a week, I was fairly happy with the ending, and not having seen it before, didn't know if it was going to leave Ash alive or dead. This way, it did leave the way open for a second series.
I always wondered if it was any good, and now I know. It stands the test of time and apart from some 70's cheesy music is well worth watching again. What made it very watchable was the attention to detail; the German bombs and fuzes, the vehicles, the equipment, the buildings, etc, were all very well researched and presented.
If this had been made today, there would be a load of cgi, some crummy acting, and plenty of bangs with massive flashes and no (or very little) technical information, for that would be beyond the ken of the media grads and luvvies who produce such shows nowadays and besides, the audience don't want to know about the nitty-gritty, do they?

The bombs would have little clockwork countdown displays; there would be a sequence where the hero shouts "she's gonna blow!" - and they they would run and dive away from the explosion, which would be an expanding fireball chasing them!

And the bombs would have a mixture of red and blue wires inside them. That's what it would be like nowadays.

reply

LOL... I think you're right :).

reply

LOL, I KNOW you are right!

reply

You always cut the blue wire.

Except in "Juggernaut" "Cut the red, Lads! R-E-D! Red!"

Yes! I liked that movie and it was made approximately four years before "Danger:UXB".
