Alien invasion episode?

My memory is very foggy on this, but I have a vague recollection of watching an episode of "BJ and the Bear," when I was four or five years old, in which the town seemed to be invaded by aliens. If I remember rightly, the aliens ended up being common crooks who dressed up this way to fool the townspeople. Does anybody have any idea what I'm talking about? It might've been another late '70s TV show . . . Thanks!

You're not crazy - this was actually an episode of the "BJ and the Bear" spinoff "The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo". It's a season 1 episode called "The Martians are Coming, The Martians are Coming". The "martians" actually turned out to be Russian spies, not common crooks, but you were close.
