Question About 1982 Episode Gloria Comes Home

I believe that IMDB says that this episode from Season 3 was an hour long

I have searched You Tube and seen only a 22 minute episode (Part 1, I guess) and then an episode "Gloria the First Day" when she starts work at the vets

Is "Gloria the First Day" Part 2 of the Archie Bunker's Place episode, or the first episode of the show "Gloria" ?

If the latter, why don't I see Part 2 of Gloria Comes Home on You Tube ?

Actually, I think the link you gave is the 2nd half of the 1st half hour of the episode. Notice that it is only 9 minutes long, not 22 minutes.

There was never an episode where she died. She died off camera. The season opener in 1980 dealt with the aftermath. I'm sure she, Mike, and Joey came back for the funeral.

In the 1982 episode here she does mention about her mother being gone. The season opener was set awhile after the funeral. By then, Gloria and Mike were back in California, the Jeffersons were in Manhattan, etc.

"Gloria: The First Day" was the unaired pilot for the "Gloria" series. It was produced by Carroll O'Connor and his "Archie Bunker's Place" creative team. But CBS rejected it, and ordered a new version from a different set of producers, essentially dumping O'Connor and team. That's why O'Connor never appeared on "Gloria" - he was unhappy with being cut out of the project. Meanwhile, they folded the original, unaired pilot into the "Archie Bunker's Place" syndication package.
