Since its just a continuation of All in the Family why not just keep calling it that? I know that he owns the bar now but it seems goofy to call it something else.

shareIt had to do probably with the way they were shifting the show. They were going to concentrate more on the bar, which was going to also be a restaurant, so they wanted to sort of give it another feel. There was also something Carrol O' Connor said about rights and that they couldn't have called it Family anymore, so they decided to change the name. It was sort of a good idea, because even in the first season, you didn't have Edith all the time, due to Jean Stapleton only wanting to appear in a certain amount of episodes.
