petty bourgeois Redheads

Mid 1970s Germany must have been a hotbed of self/cultural hating as portrayed in this film. the movie was a well put together effort and very professional but the story was all too common among the hip Left-overs from the vapid 60s.

I'm nearly done watching The Left handed Woman, also made in 1978, and can identify a similiar self, and apparent, cultural alienation on display in Christa Klages. America is always supposed to be a couple decades behind trending Europe in both political and cinematic spheres as might be noted by many; I think this is more true than not. If this is somewhat valid then the apathy and lethargy that overtook late 20th century West Europe is upon America now, only in a more consequential way.

I've not seen Klages isolation disappear from German shores but I can perceive it's shadowy lack of confidence and purpose settling on a distant America.
