One interesting remark Chiba-san made is that he considers this film one of his best.

He also admitted that wearing the eye patch for long periods of time during filming literally caused temporary blindness in the covered eye!

That Yagyu Jubei character he portrayed was historic, wasnt it? I read something about him, he wore an eyepatch and was an incredible swordsman. He once took out 12 assassins in an ambush!
